June 25, 2011 - Bulldog Club Booth at the
San Diego County Fair
Every
year we have the opportunity to participate in a program of providing
information to the public on our wonderful Bulldog breed. This year, on
the 25th of June a hardy group of Club volunteers spent 10
hours, at the San Diego County Fair, staffing our Bulldog Club Education
Booth. There was constant activity with interested crowds around the
booth all day long. Lots of toddlers and infants, older siblings, and
parents expressed interest in the booth and in the breed. The bullies
were thrilled to get so much attention and they put on quite a show for
the public. We would like to extend a special thanks to George and
Barbara Linker, Jeff and Ellen Fuller, Ron Hall, Sandy Marshman ,
Ryan Osgood, Celina Robles, Mike Yeager, and Daryn and Tina Marie Donato
for their participation. A special
thanks to Derek Rasmussen for organizing the event and spending the day
at the Fair. Kudos for the**Stars** of the show go out to *Bella*, *Georgie Girl*,*Lola*, *Sophie*,*Theo*, *Magic*, and
*Titus*. They were so patient with the kids and wonderful examples of the
breed. Pictures will be available in our August newsletter.
March
18, 2011 - Annual Bulldog Specialty Shows
The
shows were held at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center were well attended and
a great success. The weather was perfect. The Show Chairman was Derek
Rasmussen. We want to extend a special thanks to Janice Hochstetler who
was in charge of trophies, brought coffee and donuts, and MC’d the event; Marie Weir who did our show
stewarding, Elaine Feinstein who picked up our morning judge and assisted
Marie with ribbons and trophies, Elgene Davison, Kasey Kimball for the
goodie bags; Olivia Franklin for judge hospitality, Karen Block for lunch
and catalog sales, and checking in exhibitors and giving them their
goodie bags; Cindy Rasmussen for transporting the morning judge and her
husband back to their hotel. We are grateful for the support of Club
members for their entries in the shows – Thomas and Elsa White, Daryn and
Tina Marie Donato, Amber Ferreira-Vallejo. Carlos Montoya, and Andy and
Susan Rohringer. Congratulations to the Rohringers
for achieving Best in Breed in the morning show with CH Patton’s Attila
the Hun of Pannonia. Thanks also to Betty Fisher for her beautiful
ribbons.
December 2010 – Annual
Holiday Party and Election of Club Officers and Board of Directors
A wonderful time was had at
our annual Holiday party hosted by Sheldon and Elaine Feinstein. We had
great food and great company and the gift exchange was as always high
spirited with lots of wonderful bulldog memorabilia to choose from. The
new officers for the Club in the 2009 year are Jamie Kimball-President,
Janice Hochstetler – Vice-President, Elgene Davison – Secretary, Derek
Rasmussen –Treasurer. The Board members are Amber Fereirra,
Jennifer Ritter. Marie Weir, Carlos Montoya, and Daryn Donato.
October 2010 - BCGSD Halloween Costume
Party
The 2009
Halloween gathering took place at the Ward Canyon Neighborhood Park. The
weather was wonderful. Club members and Bullies had a great time and the
costume contest was the best ever. It was difficult for the judges to
come up with their decisions because of the incredible costumes displayed

March 19, 2010 - Annual Bulldog
Specialty Shows
The
shows were held at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar and were well attended
and a great success. The show was organized by Derek Rasmussen. I want to
extend a special thanks to Mark and Elgene Davison, Daryn and Tina Marie
Donato, Janice Hochstetler, Cindy Rasmussen and the entire Kimball family
for their exemplary service and dedication to making it happen. I am
grateful for the support of Club members for their entries in the shows –
Thomas and Elsa White, Elgene Davison, Daryn and Tina Marie Donato, Kasey
and Jamie Kimball.. Thanks also to Betty Fisher
for her beautiful ribbons.
August 2009 - BCGSD Summer Picnic
Amber
Ferreira did an excellent job on the Summer “Fun in the Sun” picnic and
beauty contest. Be sure to view the October newsletter for pictures of
the activity. We had a great turnout and a fun time was enjoyed by all.
The weather was perfect and The Ward Canyon Neighborhood Park was a new location.
San Diego Bulldog Rescue had some wonderful items for sale and at auction
and was able to raise some much needed funds for their program. Your
support of this wonderful program is very much appreciated
